Shibuya Smoking Pod

A smoking area that meets the standards set by the revised Health Promotion Law was placed next to the statue of Moyai, a meeting spot at Shibuya Station. As the development around Shibuya Station will continue for a while in the future, it was designed to be easily movable by using containers. However, various specification changes have been made from ready-made shipping containers such as the use of JIS standard steel materials in order to conform to the Building Standard Law of Japan. The cost of JIS containers was high, but we succeeded in reducing the cost by optimizing the parts and details.
渋谷駅の待ち合わせスポットであるモヤイ像の脇に、法改正による設置基準を満たした喫煙所が置かれることになった。渋谷駅は今後もしばらくのあいだ駅周辺の開発が続くため、コンテナを用い容易に移動が可能な仕様とした。ただし、日本の建築基準法に合致させるためJIS規格鋼材を用いるなど、既製海運コンテナからさまざまな仕様変更をしている。JISコンテナは高コストがネックであったが、部材やディテールの最適化を行いコスト低減に成功した。
